Located south of Bundeena along this Coast track you’ll find the famous Wedding Cake Rock – a beautiful white rock, shaped like a slice of cake. It’s been on my list of places to visit but never got the chance to until the boyfriend finally suggested we go last weekend.
We started our walk at the end of Beachcomber Avenue, down some really nice tracks. We found a number of other cliffs to enjoy the view before finally arriving at the Wedding Cake Rock about an hour later.
As we expected, a permanent fence is now fixed to the ground for safety, but obviously not high enough to persuade me (or others) not to jump over for a photo op. The fines are pretty heavy if you’re caught, so I was really lucky to avoid that as I now have a memory of me sitting on top of this iconic rock before it falls off onto the ocean! It was a perfect day for a scenic walk along the coast and a great excuse to take my new camera out for an outdoor adventure.
If you’re after an easy hike with great coastal views, I definitely recommend doing this Coast track. But a few things to take note of…
+ make sure to visit a toilet facility before starting
+ bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated
(or a backpack with lots of snacks hehe)
+ get there early to avoid the crowd
